How a Muay Thai round works

A traditional Muay Thai bout is 5 rounds of 3 minutes, with 2 minutes of rest between them. The longer rest makes room for the clinch and the kicking game. The bell opens and closes every round — RoundBlitz gives you the real one, so you can keep working the pads instead of watching a screen.

Muay Thai, ready to go

No setup, no math. RoundBlitz ships with the traditional format built in: 5 rounds × 3:00 work / 2:00 rest, the bell on every round, and a 5-second warning before each round ends. Open the app, load it, start.

Pad rounds & clinch work

Five threes is one preset — not a limit. Build unlimited custom rounds: any count, work, rest, warning and prepare time. Pad rounds, clinch rounds, conditioning, whatever your gym runs.

Gesture Control

Hands wrapped,
phone down.

Gloves and wraps leave no free thumb for a touchscreen. RoundBlitz reads hand signs with your camera, so you start, restart or skip a round from the bag or the clinch — without breaking your work to reach for the phone.

Muay Thai timer questions

How long is a Muay Thai round?

A traditional Muay Thai bout is 5 rounds of 3 minutes, with 2 minutes of rest between rounds — a longer rest than boxing to account for the clinch and kicking work. RoundBlitz ships with the 5 × 3:00 / 2:00 format ready to go and lets you set any length you train.

Does RoundBlitz have a built-in Muay Thai timer?

Yes. RoundBlitz includes a Muay Thai preset — 5 rounds of 3 minutes with 2 minutes of rest — with the bell on every round and a warning before each round ends. Load it and start; no setup required.

How is a Muay Thai timer different from a boxing timer?

The round length is the same 3 minutes, but Muay Thai uses 2 minutes of rest between rounds versus 1 minute in boxing, and a traditional bout is 5 rounds rather than up to 12. RoundBlitz includes both presets, so you can switch between them in a tap — see the boxing round timer.

Can I use the timer with gloves and wraps on?

Yes. RoundBlitz reads hand signs with your device's front camera, so an open palm starts or stops the timer, a peace sign restarts it and pointing skips ahead. You can run the whole session with gloves and wraps on, without touching the screen.

Does the Muay Thai timer work on Apple Watch?

Yes. RoundBlitz includes an Apple Watch companion app that mirrors the timer, so you can start, pause and skip rounds from your wrist while your phone runs the big display.

Can I set custom round and rest lengths?

Yes. You can build unlimited custom presets with any number of rounds and any work, rest, warning and prepare durations — pad rounds, clinch rounds, conditioning circuits or any format your gym runs.

Is RoundBlitz free?

RoundBlitz is free to download and includes a 3-day free trial of every feature. To keep using it after the trial, choose an annual plan ($4.99/year) or a one-time Lifetime purchase ($15.99) that's yours forever.
