How a boxing round works

A standard boxing round is 3 minutes of work and 1 minute of rest. Championship bouts go 12 rounds; club sessions and sparring run fewer. The bell opens and closes every round — RoundBlitz gives you the real one, loud enough for the whole gym, so you can keep your eyes on the pads.

Boxing Standard, ready to go

No setup, no math. RoundBlitz ships with the pro format built in: 12 rounds × 3:00 work / 1:00 rest, the bell on every round, and a 5-second warning before each round ends. Open the app, load it, start.

🎛️

Any format you train

Twelve threes is one preset — not a limit. Build unlimited custom rounds: any count, work, rest, warning and prepare time. Sparring rounds, conditioning, kids' classes, whatever your gym runs.

Gesture Control

Your hands are wrapped.
Start anyway.

Gloves on, phone on the bench — there's no free thumb for a touchscreen. RoundBlitz reads hand signs with your camera, so you start, restart or skip a round from where you're standing, without breaking your stance or your wraps.

📟

Readable across the room

A big, color-coded display — red for the round, cyan for the rest — legible from the bag or the ring, in landscape or portrait.

📊

Proof you did the work

Every session ends with a summary: rounds completed, total fight and rest time, estimated calories, and a full timeline of the rounds you actually finished.

Not just boxing

The same timer runs Muay Thai rounds and Tabata & HIIT.

Boxing timer questions

How long is a boxing round?

A standard boxing round is 3 minutes of work followed by 1 minute of rest. Professional championship bouts run 12 rounds; club, amateur and sparring sessions use fewer. RoundBlitz ships with the 12 × 3:00 / 1:00 format ready to go and lets you set any length you train.

Does RoundBlitz have a built-in boxing timer?

Yes. RoundBlitz includes a Boxing Standard preset — 12 rounds of 3 minutes with 1 minute of rest — with the bell on every round and a warning before each round ends. Load it and start; no setup required.

Can I use the boxing timer with gloves on?

Yes — that's the point. RoundBlitz reads hand signs with your device's front camera, so an open palm starts or stops the timer, a peace sign restarts it and pointing skips ahead. You can run the whole session with gloves and wraps on, without touching the screen.

What bell and sounds are included?

An authentic boxing bell plus a buzzer, whistle, air horn, vintage bell and claps, and a countdown for the final 5 seconds of every round — loud enough to hear across the gym.

Does the boxing timer work on Apple Watch?

Yes. RoundBlitz includes an Apple Watch companion app that mirrors the timer, so you can start, pause and skip rounds from your wrist while your phone runs the big display.

Can I set custom round and rest lengths?

Yes. You can build unlimited custom presets with any number of rounds and any work, rest, warning and prepare durations — sparring rounds, conditioning circuits, kids' classes or any format your gym runs.

Is RoundBlitz free?

RoundBlitz is free to download and includes a 3-day free trial of every feature. To keep using it after the trial, choose an annual plan ($4.99/year) or a one-time Lifetime purchase ($15.99) that's yours forever.
