Frequently asked
What is RoundBlitz?
RoundBlitz is a boxing, Muay Thai, and HIIT interval (round) timer for iPhone and Apple Watch. It runs your rounds with authentic bells and end-of-round warnings, and its standout feature is hands-free camera gesture control, letting you start, stop, restart, or skip rounds without touching the screen — even with gloves on.
How does gesture control work?
RoundBlitz uses your device's front camera to recognize hand signs — Open Palm, Peace, Fist, Thumbs Up and Pointing — and maps them to timer actions like Start/Stop, Restart and Skip Next. This lets you run the timer mid-round without touching the screen, even with gloves on. It's fully configurable in Settings → Gesture Control, where you can choose your hand preference and remap each sign.
Does gesture control work with boxing gloves on?
Yes. Gesture control is designed so you can control the timer mid-round with gloves on — the camera recognizes the shape of your hand sign, so you don't need to touch the screen.
Is my camera footage recorded or uploaded?
No. Gesture recognition runs entirely on your device in real time. Camera frames are used only to detect hand signs while the timer is open — nothing is recorded, saved, or sent anywhere. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Do I need to grant camera access?
Only if you want to use gesture control. The timer, presets, sounds and Apple Watch features all work without the camera. You can enable or disable camera access anytime in iOS Settings → RoundBlitz.
Does RoundBlitz work on Apple Watch?
Yes. RoundBlitz includes an Apple Watch companion app that mirrors your timer, so you can start, pause and skip rounds from your wrist without reaching for your phone.
How do I set up the Apple Watch app?
Install RoundBlitz on your iPhone, then open the Watch app on your phone and make sure RoundBlitz is installed on your Watch. The Watch companion mirrors your timer so you can start, pause and skip rounds from your wrist. If the Watch isn't syncing, keep both apps open in the foreground for the first connection, and confirm both devices are on the latest OS.
Can I build my own workouts?
Yes — create unlimited custom presets. Set the number of rounds, round and rest durations, a warning cue before each round ends, prepare time, and your bell sound. Save it and it's ready whenever you train.
Can I use RoundBlitz for HIIT and Tabata?
Yes. RoundBlitz includes a built-in Tabata preset (8 rounds of 20 seconds work and 10 seconds rest) and supports unlimited custom interval presets for any HIIT or circuit workout.
Is there a subscription?
No. RoundBlitz is a one-time purchase with everything unlocked — no subscriptions and no locked features. Once you own it, it's yours.
The timer sound doesn't play — what should I check?
Make sure your device isn't in silent mode, or enable sound in the app's settings. If you use Bluetooth headphones, confirm they're connected. RoundBlitz keeps playing round cues while the screen is on and the app is in the foreground.
